The **APEC Youth Science Festival (AYSF)** is a science and culture festival organized under the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) framework. It brings together secondary school students from APEC economies to present science projects, join interactive workshops, and participate in cultural exchange activities. The festival is typically held every two years and hosted by a different APEC economy (for example, Korea in 2019 and Thailand in 2022). Participation is usually coordinated through national education or science ministries, which select student delegations. The festival is aimed at **high school–age students** with a strong interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as intercultural communication. During the event, students present research or inquiry-based projects, attend lectures and lab-based activities, and join team challenges with peers from across the Asia-Pacific region. Beyond strengthening scientific curiosity and problem-solving skills, participants gain international exposure, improve communication in English, and build cross-cultural friendships that can support future study and career paths in STEM.
