## About this program

REMS is an inquiry-driven marine biology early college course run by the Hawaiʻi Institute of Marine Biology at Moku o Loʻe (Coconut Island) in Kāneʻohe Bay. It aims to widen access to marine science for students historically marginalized from marine STEM, using the expertise of HIMB researchers who study how human impacts and global change affect coral reefs.

Students who will be at least incoming juniors at a Hawaiʻi public high school or public charter school, or recent graduates of one. REMS applications for summer 2027 open in January; interested students can fill out the program's interest form to be notified.
