# Junior Historians of Texas

Founded in 1939 by the historian Walter Prescott Webb, Junior Historians of Texas is the oldest education program of the Texas State Historical Association and one of the longest-running student history organizations in the country. Students join through a chapter - most are school-based history clubs sponsored by a teacher, though museums, historical societies, historic sites, and at-large individual members also participate. More than 40 active chapters operate today.
