## About this program

MedStart is a Montana Area Health Education Center (AHEC) camp that encourages rising sophomores, juniors and seniors to pursue healthcare careers while learning about college life. The 2027 camps run at five campuses: University of Providence in Great Falls (June 13-17), University of Montana in Missoula (June 21-25), Montana State University Billings (June 27-July 1), Miles Community College in Miles City (July 18-22) and Montana Technological University in Butte (July 25-29, 2027).

Current rising sophomores, juniors and seniors from a Montana high school, including homeschooled and GED students, no older than 18. AHEC welcomes students from rural, low-income, first-generation and underserved backgrounds. Applications for summer 2027 open in early 2027 and are due by mid-March. The cost is $500 per person, and multiple need- and merit-based scholarships are available.
