## About this program

# Ohio Business Week

Ohio Business Week (OBW) is a nonprofit summer business camp that puts high school students on a college campus for a week to run a company from scratch. Students are placed into small "companies" of eight to twelve, mentored by volunteer business professionals, and spend the week developing a product or service that they pitch to a panel of executives acting as investors.

## What You'll Do

- Live on campus for the week at Wright State University in Dayton (2026 camp ran June 21-26)
- Join a student "company" guided by business-professional advisers
- Research and develop a product or service that addresses a real-world problem
- Attend speaker sessions and workshops on marketing, finance, operations and leadership
- Build and deliver a final pitch to a panel of executives

## Who Should Apply

Current high school students with a 3.0 or higher grade point average and the endorsement of a high school administrator. No prior business coursework is expected - the camp is built for students exploring whether business, entrepreneurship or management is a fit before college.

## Outcomes

The published fee is $499, which the program states "covers the full week of housing, meals, facilities and program materials"; costs are held below the true price by business, civic and foundation sponsors, and a Sponsor a Student fund supports students who need help. Participants leave with a completed venture pitch, a week of college residential life, and a network of Ohio business mentors and peers.
