## About this program

Sedgwick County Zoo’s Zookeeper Apprentice Program offered four two-week sessions in 2026 for ages 14-17. Students worked outdoors in the Farms, attended classes and received weekly evaluations, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

The 2026 sessions were June 1-12, June 15-26, July 6-17 and July 20-31. Fees were $160 for members or $180 for nonmembers, including a shirt. Registration closed Friday at noon before a Monday start; fees were nonrefundable and nontransferable. Waiver and photo consent requirements applied. Advancement depended on evaluation scores and available space. Future dates and prices are unannounced.
