## About this program

The South Dakota Legislature takes high school students as legislative pages during each session in Pierre. For the 2027 session, which runs January 12 to March 31, 2027 with a recess from March 12 to 30, pages serve in the House of Representatives or the Senate for one of five terms during the session's main run.

High school juniors and seniors, including home-schooled students, from any school district in South Dakota; a GPA of at least 3.0 is encouraged. Applicants need signed sponsorship from a current legislator, a completed application and cover letter, written permission from their school and a parent or guardian, and two letters of recommendation. The application asks whether the page advisor needs to arrange housing.
