Stone Laboratory, The Ohio State University's island campus on Lake Erie at Put-in-Bay, is the oldest freshwater field station in the country - and every summer it opens its introductory college-credit courses to advanced high school students. Students live on Gibraltar Island, spend all day in the field and lab, and finish a one-week course with two transcripted Ohio State credit hours.
