## About this program

CREOL, the College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida, runs a hands-on summer camp for high school students interested in physics or engineering who want to learn how light shapes technologies from lasers and fiber optics to medical imaging and autonomous vehicles. The camp is a one-week July program, offered as three identical weeks, as it has been in past years.

Students entering grades 10-12 who are interested in physics, engineering or related fields, including optics. In 2026 the early-bird fee was $550 (until April 30) and the regular fee $650 (May 1 to June 15), including all camp materials, a camp t-shirt and a drawstring bag; lunch is not provided. Scholarships are available for students with financial need, and a mailing list announces the next camp's dates and registration.
