## About this program

The Waksman Student Scholars Program, run by Rutgers University's Waksman Institute of Microbiology, lets high school students and their teachers carry out an authentic research project in molecular biology and bioinformatics and publish their findings. It is a year-long program that begins each year with summer institutes for teachers and one or two of their students, then continues at each high school during the academic year, where more students can join the research in a class or club.
