## About this program

Started in 1984, the Governor's Honors Academy was West Virginia's first Governor's School. It is a three-week summer residential program, and West Virginia University will host it through 2027. Each year has a theme; in 2026 it was "West Virginia - Wild & Wonderful in a Remote World."

West Virginia residents who are juniors when they apply, will not graduate before January of the program year, have at least a 3.5 GPA or rank in the top 10% of their class, and have no transcribed grades below a C. Students are nominated through their high school and county: the school counselor must be involved, and you need one teacher recommendation.

Fields above come directly from the catalog listing. A field with no stored value is omitted.
