# High School Extracurricular Statistics 2026 > Aggregate data on 1,900+ published catalog entries: cost, deadlines, format, eligibility and location, each figure shown with its denominator. Aggregate statistics for 1,900+ published catalog entries (updated 2026-11-04). Of 1122 entries that list a cost, 329 are free (29%); the paid-cost median among them is $1,795. 392 of 1969 entries that list a format are virtual. The peak month among 211 deadlines still ahead is January (66 dates). Each figure below states the denominator it was computed over; entries that do not carry the field, and deadlines that have already passed, are excluded from that figure only. ### Free vs. paid programs by category This table counts the cost currently listed for each published entry. Entries with no cost value are excluded from the cost denominator. | Category | Entries with cost | Free | Paid | Share free among listed costs | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | STEM | 437 | 159 | 278 | 36% | | Other | 208 | 32 | 176 | 15% | | Arts | 211 | 55 | 156 | 26% | | Leadership | 125 | 35 | 90 | 28% | | Business | 86 | 26 | 60 | 30% | | Community Service | 30 | 14 | 16 | 47% | | Volunteering | 25 | 8 | 17 | 32% | ### Application deadlines by month Counts include only deadlines that are still ahead for the current cycle.
