VEX Robotics Competition for High School

Organization: Robotics Education & Competition Foundation

Program Overview

Global student robotics competition where teams design, build, and program robots to compete in annual VEX game challenges.

The VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) is a global robotics program where middle and high school students design, build, and program robots to play a new game challenge released each year. Teams typically work through a school, club, or community organization and use the VEX V5 system to create robots that compete in driver-controlled and autonomous matches, as well as optional skills challenges. Students in grades 6–12 can participate, with many events specifically targeting high school teams. Through local, regional, national, and world championship events, participants develop skills in engineering, coding, teamwork, project management, and problem solving. The competition is run by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation in partnership with VEX Robotics, and is widely recognized as a strong preparation for STEM majors and engineering careers.
