The National All-Star Academic Tournament (NASAT) is an invitation-only national quiz bowl championship organized by National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT). Unlike most high school tournaments where schools compete as units, NASAT features **all-star teams representing U.S. states, territories, or comparable regions**. State organizations or coordinators select their top players—often via tryouts or based on performance at other tournaments—to form teams that compete on challenging, pyramidal quiz bowl questions. Teams or state organizations generally pay entry fees and travel costs, but there is no individual application fee to NAQT itself.
