What Is Delco Hi-Q?
Delco Hi-Q is an active, school-based academic quiz competition co-sponsored by the Delaware County Intermediate Unit and FMFCU Foundation. It is not an open national individual contest. Twenty-one Delaware County high schools each field a ten-student team and host one regular-season match; three schools compete across three rounds, and cumulative points determine playoff placement.
Questions cover 14 high-school and general-scholastic subjects, including history, government, art history, science, current events, geography, literature, mathematics, physics, and Shakespeare. The regular-season leader advances directly to a three-school championship; teams ranked second through seventh enter semifinals. The winning school receives the Donna Zerby Trophy and USD 3,000, with USD 2,500 and USD 2,000 for second and third.
