Washington State Knowledge Bowl Tournament
Organization: Washington Association for Schools and Administrators (WASA) Region 113
Program Overview
Statewide team quiz competition where Washington high school students answer interdisciplinary questions in a fast-paced tournament format.
The Washington State Knowledge Bowl Tournament is a statewide academic quiz competition where high school teams answer challenging, interdisciplinary questions in subjects such as math, science, history, literature, and current events. Teams first compete in regional Knowledge Bowl leagues and qualifying tournaments held across Washington State. The season culminates in the State Knowledge Bowl Tournament, typically held in March, organized and coordinated by WASA Region 113 in partnership with ESDs and participating school districts. High school students compete in teams, building quick-recall skills, teamwork, and broad academic knowledge. Participation helps students prepare for college-level academics, develop confidence in academic competition, and connect with peers who share strong academic interests.
