Editorial Policy
ExtracurricularHub is an independent, free directory of extracurricular programs for middle and high school students. Programs never pay to be listed or ranked, every listing links to the official source, and data is verified on a rolling cycle with visible "last verified" dates. Errors can be reported from any program page and are reviewed by a human.
Independence: programs never pay to appear
No organization can pay for a listing, a ranking position, a "featured" slot, or a better description. Programs enter the directory because our editorial process found them relevant for students — and they leave it when they shut down or stop serving students.
The site is free for students and carries no sponsored placements. If that ever changes, sponsored content will be labeled as such on the page where it appears.
Sourcing: official sites are the only source of record
Every listing links directly to the program's official website and application page. Facts on a listing — cost, eligibility, deadline, format — are recorded from the program's own published materials, not from third-party aggregators.
Where a fact isn't published (some programs don't list acceptance rates or exact costs), the listing says so rather than guessing.
How lists and comparisons are made
"Best of" lists and X-vs-Y comparison pages are editorial judgments built on stated criteria: selectivity, cost and financial aid, track record, and what admissions readers actually value. Comparison tables are generated from the same verified data shown on each program's page, so a comparison can never disagree with the listings it compares.
We say plainly when a program is a pay-to-attend enrichment experience rather than a selective credential — even when that's not what a marketing page would say.
Corrections
Every program page has a "Report incorrect information" link. Reports go to a human review queue; confirmed errors are corrected in the live database and the listing's verification date is updated.
If you represent a program and something about your listing is wrong, use the same report link — provider corrections are prioritized.
Student reviews
Student ratings and reviews are written by signed-in users and are moderated before publication: reviews with profanity, spam, or off-topic content are rejected. We never write, commission, or edit reviews, and aggregate ratings shown in search results reflect only published reviews.
How we use AI
Automated checks help us keep ~1,700 listings fresh: an AI verifier re-reads official program sites and flags deadline changes for human review. AI never publishes a change on its own — a flagged deadline becomes live data only after review, and listings show whether their last verification was an admin review or an automated check.
