What Is National History Day in Idaho?
National History Day in Idaho, run by the Idaho State Historical Society, guides students in grades 4–12 through historical research, interpretation and creative expression. Students create a paper, documentary, performance, exhibit or website. The 2026–27 theme is “Innovation in History: Impact, Influence, Change.”
Public, private, charter and homeschool students may take part. Grades 4–5 compete in the Youth division and can advance to state; grades 6–8 form the Junior division and grades 9–12 the Senior division.
