What Is North Dakota Leadership Seminar (NDLS)?
Since 1981, the North Dakota Leadership Seminar has brought more than 4,000 high school sophomores together for a three-day spring program. It began as North Dakota's HOBY seminar and has run without a national affiliation since 2002. The seminar is held at the University of Jamestown; the 2026 seminar ran Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31.
North Dakota high school sophomores, including homeschooled students. Every high school in the state can register sophomores, and school counselors, teachers and principals usually nominate and register students.
