What Is Venturing Summit Rank?
The Summit Rank is Scouting America's highest Venturing honor. It is an advancement process—not a one-time contest or scholarship application—for a registered Venturer who has already earned the Pathfinder Rank. The candidate completes advanced adventures, mentoring and leadership work, personal reflection and ethics activities, a separately planned service project, an Advisor conference, and a crew board of review.
Venturing generally serves young people who are at least 14, or 13 and have completed eighth grade, through age 20. Summit requirements must ordinarily be completed before the 21st birthday; the board of review may occur within six months afterward without special approval. Disability extensions may be available under Scouting policy.
