What Is World Science Scholars?
World Science Scholars is a free, one-year global program of the World Science Festival for students with exceptional mathematical ability. Scholars complete roughly five advanced courses spanning areas such as physics, mathematics, astronomy, neuroscience, biology, computation and engineering. Recorded lectures, demonstrations and projects are paired with discussion communities and weekly live calls with expert teaching fellows or course professors. The expected commitment is about two hours per week during one academic year.
Applicants may be in high school or an accelerated middle-school program and must be able to complete at least one program year before university. They need strong English discussion ability, a computer and reliable internet. The 2026 cohort is closed; the 2027 application will open in fall 2026, but no deadline has been announced.
