FRC vs VEX: Which Program Is Right for You?
FRC builds one industrial-scale robot a season with a large team, real fabrication, and mentors — closer to an engineering internship than a club. VEX robots are smaller, teams are a handful of students, and you iterate across many tournaments a year. Depth of build versus reps and ownership: FRC shows you can work like an engineer, VEX gives each member more robot per person.
Below is a side-by-side comparison of FIRST Robotics Competition and VEX V5 Robotics Competition (V5RC). A blank row is a fact we do not hold — not a zero, and not a no.

How we count
Our comparison list has 56 pairs covering 91 catalog programs. Those numbers count this list only. They are not a ranking or the size of the full catalog.
We don't rank programs or name one of them the best.
When we don't list a cost, it is unknown, not free. Check the official page.
Catalog-wide numbers, and what each was counted out of, are on Statistics.
