QuestBridge vs Jack Kent Cooke: Which Program Is Right for You?
Both target high-achieving students with financial need, but they work differently: QuestBridge's National College Match is an admission pathway — match and you're admitted to a partner college with a full four-year scholarship — while the Cooke College Scholarship is portable money and advising you take to whichever college admits you. Most eligible seniors should apply to both; they solve different halves of the same problem.

QuestBridge vs Jack Kent Cooke: the short answer
QuestBridge is a way into college; the Cooke scholarship is money you take to college. Through the National College Match you rank up to 15 of QuestBridge's 55 college partners, and if you match you are admitted early with a full four-year scholarship worth over $360,000 — no parental contribution and no loans — but only at that partner. The Cooke College Scholarship is last-dollar funding of as much as $55,000 a year for up to four years at any accredited four-year college, with advising along the way. The income lines differ: QuestBridge's typical finalist household earns less than $65,000; Cooke considers families earning up to $95,000. Cooke requires a 3.75 unweighted GPA and a test score; QuestBridge has no cut-offs and makes tests optional. Both are free to apply, and Cooke says it permits other awards with few restrictions — so they combine. The dates are close: QuestBridge closes October 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific; Cooke on November 11, 2026.
