What Is Astronaut Scholarship?
The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation supports outstanding undergraduate STEM researchers and innovators. It awards more than 70 scholarships valued up to $15,000 each, plus a paid trip to ASF's Innovators Symposium & Gala and lifelong access to astronauts, alumni, mentorship, professional development, networking, and recognition. It is not a high-school scholarship and does not give special preference to astronautical engineering or aspiring astronauts.
A candidate must be a U.S. citizen at an ASF partner university, have completed sufficient full-time study there, and be a college sophomore nominated for junior-year support or a junior nominated for senior-year support. The student must remain full-time in both supported semesters, pursue an eligible STEM degree with research or field-advancement intent, show exemplary academics, and demonstrate substantial work outside class such as research, internships, cooperative education, relevant military experience, entrepreneurship, technical papers, patents, or independent technical work. Clinical professional-medicine paths are excluded, although eligible biomedical research can qualify.
