What Is BioGENEius Challenge?
The BioGENEius Challenge is the Biotechnology Institute's flagship competition series for high-school-age biotechnology researchers. Projects are assigned to one of three tracks based on their intended application: Global Healthcare, Global Sustainability in agricultural biotechnology, or Global Environment in industrial and environmental biotechnology.
U.S. students enter through a participating local or state challenge or, if outside those listed service areas, the virtual At-Large BioGENEius Challenge. The portal also links the Canadian challenge, whose finalist may advance to an international event. Applicants submit school, student, parent or guardian, mentor, location, and project information; an abstract of no more than 250 words; a description of no more than 55 words; and a PDF research poster. Student, parent or guardian, and mentor authorization forms must also be returned.
