What Is Davidson Fellows Scholarship?
The Davidson Fellows Scholarship awards $100,000, $50,000, or $25,000 for a significant original piece of work in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, literature, music, philosophy, or Outside the Box. The former $50,000/$25,000/$10,000 amounts in older descriptions are obsolete. The 2026 cycle is closed; Davidson says the 2027 application will open in fall 2026, but has not announced the exact opening or deadline.
Eligibility is based on age, not school grade. An applicant must be 18 or younger on the deadline, with no minimum age, and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident living in the United States—or stationed overseas because of active U.S. military duty. The work should be meaningful, potentially beneficial to society, demonstrably the applicant's own, and at or near a college graduate level. Visual art such as photography, sculpture, or film, community-service projects, and descriptions of a future major or career do not qualify. Two-person teams may apply only after emailing before starting; both members must qualify and attend, and any award is divided evenly.
