What Is Chinese Chemistry Olympiad (CChO)?
The Chinese Chemical Society's CChO is a national extracurricular chemistry competition for students currently enrolled in ordinary high schools in China. It is not a globally open direct-entry Olympiad. Students register under their real identity through the authorised provincial organisation for the province of their school registration.
The 40th preliminary is an in-person, three-hour national theory exam on September 6, 2026, normally 9:00 a.m.–noon China Standard Time. Provincial registration deadlines and test centres vary. Only current preliminary first-prize winners can enter their province's published selection for the national final. The 2026 final runs October 30–November 4 in Shanghai and normally includes long theory and laboratory exams plus lectures and science/cultural activities.
