What Is Civics Unplugged Civic Innovators Fellowship?
The Civic Innovators Fellowship is the required first step into Civics Unplugged's youth network. It is free, fully virtual, and designed for students ages 13-18 worldwide. The current structure has two eight-week parts: September-November and February-April. Fellows should expect roughly three to four hours per week.
Participants study civic challenges through case studies, practice public speaking, project management, advocacy, organizing, and other innovation skills, collaborate in small-group pods and a Solvathon, and develop a Case Brief about a challenge in their community with mentor and expert support. Fellowship graduates can later pursue CU's in-person Civic Innovation Academy, project-incubation Lab, alumni community, and possible funding opportunities.
