What Is Global Youth Service Day?
Global Youth Service Day is Youth Service America's annual youth-led service and civic-action campaign, not a selective school or a single centrally delivered volunteer program. Young people ages 5-25 can create a local project, join a partner event or volunteer opportunity, and use YSA's planning resources to work for the common good through service, philanthropy, advocacy, research, kindness, leadership, or education.
The 39th annual Global Youth Service Day is announced for April 23-25, 2027 within Youth Service Month, April 9-May 9. YSA offers project-selection guidance, service-learning frameworks, issue guides, Sustainable Development Goal ideas, and links to external volunteer platforms and partner events. The location, schedule, supervision, accessibility, cost, and deliverables depend on the chosen local or online project.
