What Is EMERGE Scholars College Access Program?
EMERGE is a free Houston college-access and success program, not a young-women-in-politics fellowship and not the unrelated adult political-candidate organization. It recruits current tenth graders from eligible Houston-area partner districts into a two-year high-school program, then continues supporting them through college.
Scholars receive intensive one-on-one and biweekly college advising, course and extracurricular planning, SAT preparation, writing and financial-aid workshops, summer-enrichment guidance, in-person and virtual college fairs, nationwide college tours, application and enrollment help, a summer bridge, peer community, and college-success counseling. EMERGE does not award college scholarships itself.
