What Is George Enescu International Competition?
ARTEXIM's biennial George Enescu International Competition is a professional international classical-music competition in piano, violin, cello, and composition. It is not restricted to high-school students. For 2026, anyone born on or after August 1, 1991 could apply unless they had already won first, second, or third prize in a prior edition.
Instrumental candidates submitted a 10-15 minute unedited preselection video, and up to 50 per section advanced to live rounds in Bucharest. Twelve advance to Round II, six to the semifinal, and three to the final. Composition entrants submit anonymous scores and recordings in symphonic or chamber categories.
