What Is Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards?
The Hispanic Heritage Foundation's 2026–27 Youth Awards are open to current high-school or eligible home-school students graduating in spring 2027 who have at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale (or 7.5 on a 10.0 scale), reside in a U.S. state or territory, and will enroll in an accredited higher-education institution in 2027–28. The FAQ also allows a person under 21 who is receiving a GED.
The current cycle lists Community Service, Engineering, and Green categories, with additional categories possible. Applicants may enter more than one category. Gold, Silver, and Bronze recipients are selected in each category and receive a one-time educational grant of up to $4,000, depending on category, for college education or an eligible community-service effort. Applicants are also automatically considered for the related Haz La U grant program under its terms; selection for either program is not guaranteed.
