What Is IB Diploma Programme?
The IB Diploma Programme is a two-year pre-university curriculum designed primarily for students ages 16–19. Students study six subject groups and complete the DP core: theory of knowledge, creativity/activity/service, and an extended essay. Achievement is evaluated through a combination of internal work and external assessment. The programme is taught by authorized IB World Schools around the world, including state-supported, independent, and international schools. The IB also supports individual online courses for IB World School students and a fully online pilot delivered through selected partner organizations. There is no single global student application, admission deadline, grade-11/12 rule, weekly-hour requirement, or universal USD 1,000 fee. Each authorized school or online provider sets its own admissions policy, local calendar, available subjects, delivery model, and student-facing charges. Students should contact the relevant authorized provider directly. Earning an IB Diploma or DP Course Results depends on completing the applicable curriculum and assessment requirements; university recognition or credit must be checked with each institution.
