What Is IDEA MATH Summer Online Programs?
IDEA MATH's summer online offerings combine live seminar-style problem solving with homework and student presentations. Math Challenges serves rising grades 4-12 across prealgebra-through-advanced contest levels; Advanced Studies serves grades 7-12 in the XC and Math Olympiad sequences. Applicants provide detailed academic and contest history, and students not recently enrolled generally take a paid placement test. IDEA MATH makes the final course placement.
In 2026, Math Challenges ran July 6-August 6 on Monday-Thursday evenings, 7:00-9:30 Eastern, for 50 live hours plus about one hour of homework after most classes. Tuition was $1,695 early or $1,895 regular. Advanced Studies ran June 28-August 11 on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings for 50 live hours plus homework, at $1,995 early or $2,195 regular.
