What Is Berkeley Changemaker Gateway Course — Summer?
The real current opportunity accessible to pre-college students is the summer version of The Berkeley Changemaker gateway course.
The course develops UC Berkeley Changemaker's three core capabilities—critical thinking, communication, and collaboration—along with leadership, agency, self-reflection, evidence use, peer engagement, and positive-change planning. Summer delivery is fully online and asynchronous, with optional live faculty office hours and Zoom sessions offered at varied times. Students watch lectures and Berkeley Changemaker Chats, read, engage with classmates, and complete assignments. It is an academic course, not a Jacobs Institute design lab, maker workshop, startup incubator, or guaranteed portfolio experience.
