What Is Explore Engineering Innovation (EEI) Online?
EEI Online is the synchronous virtual version of Johns Hopkins Engineering Innovation's intensive first-year-style engineering survey. Students explore civil, chemical, electrical, computer, mechanical, and materials engineering through live instruction, team problem-solving, and hands-on projects completed with a required shipped kit. The course carries three JHU credits and requires about 28 hours per week for five weeks, not merely the three daily classroom hours.
For 2026, tuition was USD 3,900, the nonrefundable application fee USD 60, and the kit an estimated USD 265 plus tax/shipping/customs, producing a published estimated total of USD 4,225 before those add-ons. The June 29-July 31 session and its application are closed. JHU expects to post summer 2027 information-session details in September 2026, but 2027 dates, deadlines, price, and format are not announced.
