What Is Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program?

Established in 1983, the Governor's Scholars Program aims to develop Kentucky's next generation of civic and economic leaders. It balances a liberal arts and sciences academic program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. Students compete for places, and those selected attend free of charge.

Kentucky residents who are in 11th grade at the time of selection and plan to return to a Kentucky school district for their senior year, and who have taken the ACT, PSAT or SAT in 9th, 10th or 11th grade. Applications go through your school and district first; ask the counselor who runs the Governor's Scholars process at your school for its deadline. Homeschool students apply to the program directly.
