What Is MSU High School Engineering Institute (HSEI)?
HSEI is a coed five-day residential engineering-exploration program in East Lansing for U.S. and international students entering grades 10-12 and recent graduates. Applicants should have about a 3.0 or better in math, science and technology coursework and submit a transcript.
Each day introduces an engineering major through short lectures, demonstrations, hands-on work, team problem solving and research-facility tours with MSU faculty, graduate students and undergraduates. Students also hear from Honors, Admissions, Study Abroad, co-op/internship and undergraduate-research offices. This is exploration, not a credit course or research internship.
