What Is National Flight Academy 6-Day Deployment?
The National Flight Academy's flagship Deployment is a six-day, five-night residential STEM program inside AMBITION CVT-11, a four-story, 102,000-square-foot simulated aircraft carrier at NAS Pensacola. Students become AMBITION eXperimental Pilots and work in squadrons through progressively harder aviation missions involving flight simulation, air traffic control, maintenance, navigation, meteorology, aerodynamics, propulsion, physiology, and search and rescue.
For 2026, participants had to be ages 10-17 and entering grades 6-12; graduates and students age 18 at attendance were ineligible. A parent or guardian must register. The facility uses controlled access, Flight Leads, overnight resident advisers, on-site nursing, and ACA-accredited procedures.
