# National Flight Academy The National Flight Academy immerses students in naval-aviation-themed STEM aboard AMBITION CVT-11, a 102,000-square-foot virtual aircraft carrier built at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. In the flagship six-day Deployment for grades 6-12 (ages 11-17), students become AMBITION eXperimental Pilots (AXPs), living aboard the ship and flying increasingly difficult simulated missions. Shorter options include a three-day Cruise for grades 5-12 and a one-day Adventure for grades 4-12. ## What You'll Do - Live aboard the simulated carrier AMBITION for a six-day Deployment - Fly missions in networked flight simulators with your squadron - Study aviation, engineering, navigation, meteorology, survival skills, and aerodynamics through hands-on challenges - Build communication, teamwork, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills under mission pressure ## Who Should Apply Students in grades 6-12 (ages 11-17) for Deployments - no aviation experience needed - with younger students eligible for the three-day Cruise (grades 5-12) and one-day Adventure (grades 4-12). Families register directly through the academy's online UltraCamp portal; sessions are booked first-come, and a 2026 tuition-support code (AMBITION26) offers 20% off. ## Outcomes AXPs leave with a week of applied STEM built around real aviation practice, plus exposure to aviation and engineering career paths at the home of naval aviation.
