What Is DAR National Scholarship Committee Portfolio?
This is an umbrella for multiple national scholarships, not one high-school-senior award. Applicants range from graduating seniors to undergraduate, graduate and professional students. All must be U.S. citizens and attend or plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university, while the individual award controls field of study, education level, GPA, need, membership/lineage and renewal terms. Most awards do not require DAR membership or relationship, and no chapter sponsor is required.
The shared portal opens annually November 1 and closes January 31 at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Time. A typical application includes a career-objectives statement, transcript, one-page activities/honors record, citizenship proof and two to four typed recommendations, plus award-specific materials. Visible photographs or handwritten documents can disqualify an application. This portal excludes DAR Good Citizens and state/chapter awards. Award amounts vary; applicants should choose a specific scholarship before relying on any dollar figure or eligibility rule.
