What Is Philippine Schools Debating Championship?
The Philippine Schools Debating Championship is an annual national debate tournament for high-school teams from around the Philippines, hosted by the Ateneo Debate Society. The completed 2026-named edition used British Parliamentary debate and included seven preliminary rounds, an Open elimination series beginning at octofinals and the Ana Alano Cup elimination series. Competitors received adjudicator feedback and could earn team, speaker and finals-speaker recognition.
Despite its name, PSDC 2026 was held onsite at Ateneo de Manila University from December 4-7, 2025. The organizer explained that it departed from the usual January schedule because of university-calendar and logistical constraints. Phase 1 registration ran August 27-September 13, 2025. The historical packages were PHP 6,000 per stay-out debater, PHP 8,000 per stay-in debater, PHP 5,000 per stay-out observer or adult chaperone and PHP 7,000 per stay-in observer or adult chaperone. Scholarship applications were available. These prices and dates do not apply automatically to the next edition.
