# Sarah Lawrence Writers Week Writers Week is Sarah Lawrence College's immersive week-long summer program in creative writing and the performance arts, offered to high school students for more than 25 years. Students work in small workshops of no more than 18, each led by two teaching artists drawn from the college's MFA writing community, on the Bronxville, NY campus or in a live virtual session. ## What You'll Do - Start each day in a generative writing workshop with prompts across genres - Take mini-workshops with program faculty, graduate students, and guest artists - Meet in small groups and one-on-one with workshop leaders - Share work at faculty and student readings and a closing celebration - Earn one Sarah Lawrence College credit upon successful completion ## Who Should Apply Students entering grades 9-12 in the fall who are at least 14 years old at the program start. In 2026, sessions run July 6-10 (virtual, $1,195), July 20-24 and August 3-7 (on campus, day program, $1,950 including lunch). Registration is via the college's precollege site; a $250 deposit reserves a place. ## Outcomes Participants finish the week with a body of new writing, experience of college-style workshop culture at a college famous for writing, one transcripted college credit, and connections with MFA-trained mentors.
