NC State Design Camp

# NC State Design Camp Design Camp is the NC State College of Design's pre-college program in Raleigh, and its Design Immersions residential week gives rising 11th and 12th graders a true design-school experience. The 2026 program opened with an online orientation on June 17, followed by the residential week July 12-18, during which campers live on campus and work in a studio environment modeled on the college's undergraduate majors. ## What You'll Do - Complete online Design Fundamentals prep modules and rank your choice of studio projects before camp - Spend the residential week completing one studio project, aiming for portfolio-quality work - Practice critical and creative thinking activities that mirror college-level design study - Explore the College of Design's studio-based disciplines and get a feel for design careers - Live on the NC State campus with housing, meals, supplies, and activities included ## Who Should Apply Rising 11th and 12th grade students interested in the College of Design's undergraduate studio-based majors. Registration for Design Camp 2026 is now closed; registration for Design Camp 2027 will open at the end of January 2027. The fee is $1,650, covering online prep modules, housing, meals, instruction, supplies, activities, and insurance, and students demonstrating financial need and motivation may apply for Financial Assistance Scholarships through their registration. ## Outcomes Campers leave with a completed studio project suited for a college application portfolio, direct exposure to design-school pedagogy and critique culture, and a residential preview of life at one of the Southeast's leading public design colleges.
