Science Week Ireland is a nationwide annual celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) coordinated by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). Over the course of a week each November, schools, libraries, universities, community groups and science centres across Ireland host talks, workshops, demonstrations, festivals and interactive activities. While Science Week is not a single, centralised competition, many partner organisations and local event providers run science-themed competitions, quizzes, project challenges and poster or video contests specifically for primary and secondary students as part of the programme. Participation is typically free and open to schools and youth groups across Ireland, giving students opportunities to explore STEM topics, meet scientists, and showcase their creativity and scientific thinking.
