NSBE Jr.

# NSBE Jr. NSBE Jr. is the K-12 STEM program and pre-college membership of the National Society of Black Engineers, one of the largest student-governed engineering societies in the country. Through NSBE Jr. chapters - chartered at schools, churches, and community organizations - students in grades K-12 explore engineering through hands-on programming while building relationships with collegiate NSBE members and professional Black engineers. ## What You'll Do - Join a local NSBE Jr. chapter (or as an at-large member where no chapter exists) for $5 per year - Take part in hands-on activities, competitions, experiments, and projects that spark curiosity and creativity - Receive mentorship from experienced professionals and NSBE collegiate members - Develop leadership skills through chapter officer roles and event organizing - Connect with a national network of peers who share your STEM interests, including NSBE's regional and national convention programming for pre-college students ## Who Should Apply US students in grades 6-12 (chapters serve K-12) who want a sustained, society-backed engineering community - the program centers students underrepresented in STEM, and membership is open year-round with no application or deadline. ## Outcomes NSBE Jr. members build a multi-year engineering identity backed by a professional society: competition experience, documented leadership roles, mentor relationships, and a direct pipeline into NSBE collegiate chapters and the society's scholarship programs when they reach college.
