The St Albans International Organ Competition is one of the world’s leading competitions for young organists, held biennially as part of the St Albans International Organ Festival in St Albans, England. It features demanding performance rounds on historic and modern organs in and around the city, and attracts talented players from many countries. The competition is aimed at advanced young organists (often conservatory or university-level students and emerging professionals), and there is no specific high school category. However, highly advanced high school–aged organists sometimes apply if they can meet the artistic standard. Participants benefit from international exposure, professional-level adjudication, prizes and recital opportunities, as well as the chance to hear and meet leading performers, composers, and teachers during the wider festival events.
