What Is St Albans International Organ Competitions?
The 2027 St Albans competitions are professional-level organ-performance contests, not a high-school program. Applicants of any nationality who were born after July 17, 1994 may enter Interpretation, Improvisation, or both. A high-school-age organist is technically eligible, but must meet the same repertoire, recording and public-performance standard as conservatory students and emerging professionals.
Selection begins with an anonymous recorded round. By March 5, 2027 at 12:00 GMT, applicants submit a cloud folder with unedited pipe-organ audio, a signed professional witness statement, one teacher/professional recommendation, biography, photograph and supporting documents, plus a nonrefundable GBP 55 fee per competition or GBP 100 for both. The jury notifies selected quarter-finalists March 19.
