SXSW Pitch is a startup competition, not a high-school idea-pitch exercise. The Student Startups category accepts qualifying technology companies across SXSW's industry sectors. At least one actively enrolled high-school, college or university member of the founding or executive team must present in Austin if selected as a finalist or alternate.
Applicants need a legally registered/compliant startup, one qualifying product or service, retained founder ownership and no more than $10 million in combined funding. Two official pages conflict on whether the product must have been conceived no earlier than January 1, 2024 or merely not launched before that date; applicants should obtain written confirmation.
