# Tennessee Governor's School for the Sciences and Engineering The Governor's School for the Sciences and Engineering (GSSE) is one of Tennessee's state-sponsored Governor's Schools, hosted each summer by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Roughly 180 rising juniors and seniors from across the state spend four weeks living on the UT campus (May 31–June 27 in 2026) for advanced study, laboratory experience, and research in modern science, mathematics, and engineering. Every admitted student receives a scholarship: full scholarships cover all tuition and fees, while partial scholarships cover a portion of the fees and families pay tuition.
