What Is AEOP High School Internships?
The former High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP) is now presented as AEOP High School Internships. It is an umbrella for paid, mentor-guided research placements at U.S. Army research laboratories, centers, and partner university labs—not one uniform national summer program. Applicants choose specific openings they can actually attend.
The central application remains available, but each position uses its own specific or rolling deadline, eligibility, project, schedule, and modality. Most summer placements are in person, 40 hours per week for 6-10 weeks, though some academic-year, virtual, or hybrid openings exist when the posting says so. Every intern receives a site- and duration-dependent educational stipend; there is no application or participation fee. Housing, meals, and transportation are generally not provided, so most positions require a feasible daily commute.
