What Is Fermilab Program for Research?

Fermilab PRISM is a four-week STEM summer school scheduled for July 12–August 6, 2027. Activities include lectures, hands-on work, tours and a final research abstract, poster or presentation. The page describes both on-site and off-site work; off-site work does not by itself establish virtual delivery.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled in an Illinois high school and be either seniors in 2027–28 or 2027 graduates. The program requires proof of insurance. Applications run January 12–March 1, 2027, with one STEM teacher or club-advisor recommendation due at the application close. Applicants also supply the supplemental questionnaire and STEM-course document and should prepare all requirements before submitting. No cutoff clock or timezone is printed.
